A friend of mine is currently studying Computer Science at UWS (they did not meet the cutoff for UNSW). They now want to transfer to UNSW - how should they go about this?

Which option topic are you guys doing? I'm doing Evolution of Programming Languages. I kinda wish I was doing the other one, but i guess this one is probably easier.

I wrote some formulas with the equation editor in MS Word, but when i try to convert it to PDF, it gets an error. Has anyone else done this successfully? does anyone know why it doesn't work?

What do you guys do in SDD? We just come to class every day and get told the difference between a band 6 and a band 5, and occasionally we will do a scenario question where we will write up the algorithm, flowchart and then maybee implement it in VB. All theory is done at home in our own time.;)
