people always knock Power In Society... but if you have any kind of interest in broader social issues (think: refugees, womens' rights, power of the media, etc) then you will most likely find it interesting and easy.

My guess is that Paton (the guy who ran Comm and Critical, and was pretty much the driving force behind the degree) took his business elsewhere. I know he was having major disputes with the faculty about the future direction for the degree, and was threatening to walk out...

Theres ALWAYS ways around that rule, though. Talk to your lecturer about how you feel the final exam mark didnt reflect your achievements, or the effort you put in... and that you were weighed down by personal problems on the day, etc etc... they're usually quite easy to schmooze with!
Yeah, CLAW1001 is good: a very basic overview of heaps of legal concepts, so it doesn't really get too repetitive (tradeoff: it doesnt really go indepth into anything).

its definitely a good degree...
i'll be coming out of it with 3 different business majors, and quite a diverse knowledge base...
the only downside is: once you actually figure out your career plan, you may lament having to do the extra year... most of the people i went through commerce...
