i did that too. i was doing okay in 2 unit but it was so boring, and i didn't need it so i dropped to general, enjoyed it more, and came out with a pretty good mark. 93 was excellent considering only 3% of general students got over 90. and coz it was my best mark too!

yeah our "study periods" were known as "free periods" and if we weren't in the library studying we were kicked off school grounds. we could do as we please but we expected to leave the school. there was barely ever anyone in the library. free periods were generally beach periods or sleep...

i dunno. i know a lot of people who would much prefer to go to usyd rather than unsw. my sister went to both and she much prefers usyd... but i guess it depends on the course, and your personal choice

at my school, if youre willing to ask for extra help it'll be given no matter who you are. its just that the less academic students dont care as much so dont ask for extra help

yeh the facilites are very good. just a lot of controversy over things. my sister was there in 1998/1999 and even in those two years, things changed. now first years are segregated between guys and girls in the buildings... in 2nd year you get to choose between combined or segregated and 3rd...

our dux is the perosn with the highest uai... i think this year the dux got 98.65. thats not a bad effort for our school. its the highest we've seen in a few years

i think everyone has questioned this and i dont think we'll ever get an answer... i didnt mind english as much in my senior years as i did earlier on. in fact i quite enjoyed it. if you try to enjoy it it wont be so bad

yes year 12 maths is a prereq but you could probably do it via correspondence before you go to uni, or yeah, a bridging course. you should contact the uni about that one
