was anyone else complete surprised by how they went in engx? i was expecting it to be one of my worst exams, if not the worst, but i ended up getting 49/50
were they marking easy this year?
imo you need texts from diff time periods/cultures/societies etc in order to effectivelly understand how the genre has evolved etc
texts that i think are pretty substantial for this are
The Spanish Tragedy
The Life and Loves of a She Devil
The Stars Tennis Balls
Whitedevil (didn't use it...
i did frontline and while some ppl stuck to media related texts i decided to branch out- this is what worked for me;
-The Crucible (the film directed by Hynter-- good for truth in the judicial system)
-1984 (the novel by Orwell -- good for truth in terms of government and politics)
-WWI...
i think this is an easy one since basically any text can be used for changing self... however stuff i found was good included
angela's ashes (both the book and the film directed by parker)
thelma and louise (film directed by ridley scott)
educating rita (play by russel--> very, very good!)...
i wrote a short story for the 'creative' question but was so busy writing which module i'd done (revenge tragedy) that i didn't give my story a title
how much is that going to screw up my mark?
if i could do it all over- which i never would because i'm not clinically insane- i would have applied myself more consistently
yeah last minute cramming works great but i know when i get my marks i'll blame them on all those wasted frees and afternoons in front of the tele
for the class of 2003, anyone considering doing a critical response, i hope the following helps

2) decide...
