When I told my English head teacher that few people get Band 6's in Standard, she says like "It's not like that anymore."
Seriously, how do you argue with someone who won't even acknowledge it?
I don't really know my ability in English, because I haven't tried properly this year, and I already selected Advanced, but I doubt I will get in.
I have heard so much stuff about how poorly Standard English aligns. I have heard that only 5% of the state get Band 5 or above, with the rest 95%...
Yeah, Anh Do is a man.
I wrote 2 pages for the creative. Also, it didn't really specifify a "short story." It just said an "imaginative peice of writing." Mine was more like a diary entry; like a reflection.
Also, what did you guys write about that letter thingy to the principal about that character's hardships.
I wrote about how admirable it was about she dealt with her family problems the way she did, and how it is important to hear her in a school full of those values, and the rest was BS.
I wrote about a woman who drank and drive and killed her sister in law, and her family hated her when they found. So, she was all alone and I wrote about how she reflected on the good times she had with her family before they left her.
I don't know...I'm just starting to get a bit nervous. Does it matter at all if you're going on to Year 11?
Could they ask for it at TAFE or at any other job?? I don't plan to go to TAFE, but it could happen if everything falls apart in 2 years.
I haven't done any study, at all.
But my school has this rule that only the top 60 people in the grade can do Advanced. It's not in my hands.
Just how badly will doing Standard affect my ATAR?
