I have friends doing physics honours and apparently the physics staff there work hard through incentive schemes to ensure that a lot of students end up doing Phd's.
That's usually only the case for people who have atleast an honours in science or a double degree in say science/commerce or science/engineering. Top investment banks like JP Morgan or Macquarie Bank won't hire u unless u have a well-rounded academic background and that includes a double degree...
If you do science you'll get your marks back next week. Traditionally, chem marks get released next monday and maths marks next wed/thursday and physics on wed.
If you do commerce, you'll get most of your marks back next week from around next tuesday-thursday.
Applied maths is the best major of them all along with financial maths. It gives you solid analytical skills that are useful to any job, and it's well respected cause not many people can stick it out for 3 years doing hardcore maths.

Yeah the "overqualification" aspect was something i was a little concerned about, and the problem of not having enough practical work experience to work in a job u are qualified for by transcript.
At the end of this year I get a B science(adv maths) and am trying to weigh up whether to...
Hey guys, just interested to to see what ppl's opinions are on a commerce masters by coursework versus a commerce bachelor's degree. The only disadvantage of a masters i can think of is the cost which is around 20K over 1 and a half years if u manage to get some subject exemptions. Apart from...
