i've got 4! ok, but that's kinda my choice, i became too lazy last year so i'm gonna try the early starts thing, and see if i can make my afternoons more productive. the more likely thing is that i'll just embrace the nanna nap even more than i did last year!
This probably sounds like a really dumb question but do you have to sign up and pay for LSS (law student society) membership each year? Surely $10 (or whatever it was) isn't enough to be membership for your entire degree.
last year i think the colleges organised to take their students over and show them how to enrol, and that was a few days later than when local students enroled. i would assume much the same thing will happen again this year.
I left a bunch of stuff in canberra over summer (doona, towels, winter coats etc) so i'm taking clothes, and some text books that i've bought while in melbourne. i'll courier up my box of shoes. and this year i'm buying a fan as soon as i get to canberra!
i think they sell a certain amount of tickets to each of the colleges, so you can buy them from your colleges when you arrive (often at a discounted price). but i think you can also get tickets from the anu student assoc. don't think you can buy them early.
market day should be renamed 'give out free condoms day'.
just be careful what you sign up for... things that i paid up for and never attended... choir, debating, ski team... etc
and yes, we'll all be returning on wednesday. parrrrrrrrrty!
a normal load is four subjects a semester - each is worth 6units (not sure why they do that... but they do....). the amount of contact hours for each subject will vary.
:) good luck
if it's a repeat you just choose the lecture time that suits you better. you also only have to go to one tute per week per subject (generally speaking), so hopefully there will be one that doesn't clash with a lecture. tutes don't run in the first week, only the lectures and often that first...
in sem1 i told my bosses that i could work friday mornings coz i only had torts in the afternoon. BIG MISTAKE... every friday i started work at 8am. eeeevil
two of my subjects aren't up yet... and the other two just have lecture times -- not tute times. so my timetable could end up like anything at the moment... i'd like to keep fridays off :) that was fun.
the draft timetable is up here... http://timetable.anu.edu.au/
you just click on the subjects you're doing and it'll create the timetable for you. It doesn't mean you're enrolled in those classes, it just shows what time they're on.
