I'm applying for the National Art School in Sydney and my interview is next Thursday... is anyone else applying?
Or has anyone here applied in the past? If so, what was the process like?
Just because you don't do it all by yourself, doesn't mean it's not your art... look at Andy Warhol. It's a very post-modern idea, but this is art, after all.
I'm doing a series of artworks (varying in size and medium) of people's faces... and one huge oil painting of a person. I tend to prefer more traditional styles of art, so I'm really loving getting to draw and paint faces! Is everyone almost finished now? It's due so soon!
Shadowdude: Ah, well... we all have our personal preferences. I've had nothing but positive remarks from mentors and established writers about my opening scene, so I'm quite confident with it.
Our class has scheduled lessons for Extension 2 during our shared free periods, so we have four Extension 2 lessons a fortnight, in which our teacher is available to go over our work with us, edit our grammar and punctuation, and generally help clarify our ideas.
Woah, the major work is due...
Mine starts with the nursery rhyme "Jack and Jill" but I view that more as a beginning quote. Here's my first three sentences:
“I’m hungry,” whined Jack, fingers scraping along his bare belly. Jill said nothing, because words were not food. Hunger stirred like a whirlpool in her stomach...
Thanks, that was mad! I like the idea of a stop motion film moving (rather than drawn on a still white board) but I'm not sure how I could realistically do that, especially in a public place. I really liked the concept and the use of sound, though. Thanks again!

I think, if properly executed, a stop motion would be great! They're amazing pieces of work, really. I like you :)
