yeah there are major crumple zones on the front/back of cars to nullify the forces generated by impact (its alot better for the car to absorb it than the occupants =])

yeah i ended up picking mechatronics out of interest, what engo are your mates doing that are in the SAE team? I'd really like to join that even though I'm doing mechatronics and not mechanical, doesn't seem like itll matter that much anyway

why not do both sort of? do a combined engo/science, one more year than an engo degree and you get to taste both

doing physics major in science and mechatronic for engineering just chose combined with science initially being a bit absent minded about japanese thought it would be nice too because its matched up with mechatronics, that whole kill two birds with one stone and greater understanding stuff...
