I'm at UNSW too, but 2nd year, majoring in finance. Working at an investment bank atm also. Id probably be doing the same subjects as you this semester, since with double degree u lag a little bit.. what subjects are u doing?
I don't know all there is about professional recognition in the finance industry, but I'm pretty sure CFA is the equivalent to finance majors as CPA/CA is to Accounting.
Membership/Associate of SIA (or the new merged institute) is generally seen by employers as scrapy.. its more of a basics...

not graduate analysts, but the guys a step up from grads.
I know for a fact sales traders "mostly get over 200K", from the head of sales trading where i work... but then some grad told me that your average EQUITIES RESEARCH...
No offence Seremify but please tell me you accepted a cadetship at a big 4 accounting firm or one of the more prestigious investment houses (don';t think they do 'cadetships' per se) instead of B.ACC?
b.acc is much better then any cadetship. Same goes for any other co-op.
A cadetship is just a full time bottom level role (yes the underlings do the most work.. didn't u know?) with very little pay. Most cadets know and complain they don't get paid enough.
You don't need to work 3 years...
