yeah, i agree it's a useful skill. i didn't suggest getting rid of visual texts, i suggest leaving them out of the final two years of school for people who want to do advanced english and extend themselves.
It's on the syllabus. If you do not study visual texts you are not complying with the state regulations.

if they did nationalise the hsc, it would be good if we got western australia's english set up. they have something called english - which is all the (outdated) trendy crap we have no choice...

You know what, i'm not asian and all i do at school is english, history and french, but i agree with you somewhat.
i personally think it's complete bull that utterly science based cause like vet. science or medicine pretty much requires a strong advanced english mark for people to get into...
