Re: The Official A-League Thread.
It was disappointing to let a 2-0 lead slip, but we're talking about a massive gulf between quality and experience between Sydney FC and the J-League champions. As for the Cove - they've never been all that impressive. Huge numbers but all they chant is "Come...
Boohoo. People die all the time. The only things that I can be sympathetic for are the Heysel and Hillsborough tragedies (not acts of hooliganism by the way) . The rest....shit happens.
Dude, I'm not arguing. Anyone can call themselves anything - I don't give a fuck. I was just telling you the facts. I wasn't giving an opinion. I actually like football hooliganism. It's fun.
OK, not all "Ultras" groups are violent but, as I said, these are merely Fan Clubs that have given themselves the label.
Read before you try to be a smartass.
You're probably one of those Melbourne Victory Union pussies who wears a scarf over their face and calls themself an "Ultra". Pffft. There is no point in arguing the point with you as all you will do is give me Wikipedia response. OK, not all "Ultras" groups are violent but, as I said, these...
You need to draw a distinction between what is an Ultras group and a "Fan Club". The "Fan Clubs" are those groups that exist purely to support the club. The Ultras do support the club, but they are Ultras because they cause trouble. To say that all Ultras are "hooligans" is absolutely correct...
The Serie A displays the most technically brilliant and pure football in all of Europe. As such, I understand why it may not entertain a dimwitted individual as yourself who probably dislikes everything outside of the EPL.
By the way, how about Sydney FC's performance against Shenhua Shanghai...
re: The Official F1 Thread
Wait at the entrance to the paddock in the mornings and at the end of the day. By the end of the weekend you'll get pretty much every driver's autograph - plus you get to hang out with the F1 hardcores and random weirdos like myself.
Henry's was a definitely a penalty. When you flail your legs like that and actually make contact from the ground, it will always be a penalty.
I think Portugal were worse offenders and have been this whole tournament. They were looking to fall everytime a player got near them and for fucks...
Mate, I've followed the Socceroos for as long as I remember and I have held faith in them when everyone turned their back on them and Australian football so don't give me that shit. I believed Australia could beat Italy but not with the way they played on the day and I never once said that...
France v Portugal:
Portugal looked much more dangerous in their build up with the runs of Ronaldo and Figo and those awesome long balls by Deco but I just got the feeling that they were never going to convert it into a serious threat on Barthez. Overall, France deserved to go through but with...
No, Australians find it hard to embrace a game where they aren't the best in the world - and I think you're one of those Australians.
You should seriously get over it. I'm proud that Australia even made it to the World Cup and anything from thereon was a bonus. Italy were by far the better team...
You don't get it do you? If the Aussies didn't let Grosso in the box, the penalty would never have occured. The ref didn't decide the game - Australia let the ref decide the game.
