As a graduate, I'm very glad that our hard work is getting recognised.
University of Technology Sydney is the only Australian design school to be short listed by BUSINESS WEEK.
Haven't quite made the top 30 in the world YET, but is listed under "Programs to Watch."
World's Best Design...
Hi.. Care to share with me whose 4th year project you were researching into? I'd like to see and have my two cents on this issue..
I can understand your panic though.. It's an incredibly hard decision to make; pursuing fashion design.
Yes the reality is that it's unbelievably competitive...
USYD Design computing, like the name implies, goes beyond a design degree, and crosses over into IT and computer science.
I believe their assumed knowledge is mathematics, as opposed to UTS visual comm's assumed knowledge being advanced english and visual arts.
Maths really? I have friends in interior design, it's still pretty general maths isn't it?
However I also second that interior design is not a 'girly' choice. I think many mistake interior decoration with design. The two are different occupations that require different qualifications.

I say absolutely possible, as long as you maintain your grades in first year.
Internal course transfer within the faculty is easier than an external one.
As a graduate of this course, you can take electives in illustration but you may be disappointed if you thought you'd be doing an 'illustration' course.
Quite frankly, it's better this way, I'm not sure how one could possibly go through 4 years of university simply studying only illustrations...
i say a combination of both... I feel it firstly starts with word of mouth which attracts higher achievers to a certain degree thus leading to talented graduates and then the cycle continues. I heard thats how UTS broke into the 'niche' market of becoming a leader for their applied Creative Arts...
well art was my fav subject in high school and it motivated me to do the course i'm doing right now: Bachelor of Design in Vis comm/ international studies @ UTS.
set a goal (as you already have which is good :)) and study hard. they also have a combined B fashion & textiles design/B international studies and the uai for that this yr was ...

I think she might be the cause of UWS's lower reputation . . . The more she opens her mouth the more she's disgracing herself and her pride for her uni.......
AS NATSTAR WISHES HERE IT IS.
The initial problematic suggestion that clearly connotes that people should consider going to private schools over unis for design.
The attitude right after hearing what msh had to say, that absolutely proved natstar’s comment wrong.
She’s already twisting...
Um no you DID disagree with anything msh has posted regarding the DIA until just recently that you decided to change your opinion on it and act innocent. That's a denial for you. Too many others to name.
why don't you go back and read each invidividual comment by msh, stazi and kayin and see...
you've gotta be kidding right.
Unless you are that stupid to notice. Maybe you should take a time and go back way before and read your starting post and then follow it up.
