If you want to look at something a bit different (and possibly impress the teacher!!) try some Edgar Allan Poe......the short stories are a good start (the tell-tale heart, the black cat, the fall of the house of usher, just to name a few) hope that helps

you could try "hotel california" by the eagles (its a song, thus if you download the lyrics its a written text) you could also do a search for any info on jessie martin. he sailed around the world by himself at 18yrs old......there should be heaps of stuff on him, try www.smh.com.au

you could also try "the importance of being earnest"......but use the play, not the film. the film version takes too much for granted and doesnt deal with the way society operates in any great detail.

If you want some related materials that are more 'contemporary' you could consider - any of the harry potter books/movies - bridget jones diary - x-files - joe dirt or anything else where someone is facing the struggle of trying to fit into society, instead of making society adjust to them

you could also explore that way that honesty (or the lack there of) affects the characters and controls the story-line. just a thought
