For circle geometry I showed angle BPC = BCP =ø. Therefore OBC=2ø(exterior angle...). And OA = OC(radii). OA perpendicular to AQ and OC perpendicular to CQ(tangent perpendicular to radius). And I proved Triangle OAQ congruent to OCQ(RHS).
Would that be 1 mark or 2 marks? :confused2:
Well I hope they give me benefit of the doubt. I hope it's not naive to consider that 1 mark is already guaranteed - and that this is a dilemma between 1 or 2 marks.
I initiated my working like this:
Consider x≥1 (as we are given x≥0)
(followed by the working I showed you above)
It's rather badly worded, as it seems like I'm getting the fact x≥1 as we are given x≥0 which virtually makes no sense......But I hope they overlook that somehow. Or perhaps...
For the inequalities question, I just showed this, how many marks would it get? It doesn't prove for 0<x<1, only for x≥1. Maybe 1/3 or 2/3? :/
x^2≥1
x^2(x-1)≥(x-1)
x^3-x^2≥x-1
add 2x√x to both sides
x^3-x^2+2x√x ≥ x-1+2x√x
x^3+1+2√x ≥ x^2 +x + 2x√x
(x√x +1)^2 ≥ (x+√x)^2
x√x+1 ≥ x+√x
Hi everyone, I'm currently in year 12. I'm hoping to do actuarial studies at UNSW next year, however there's always a chance I might not get it. In that case, my alternative plan is to do Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Science (Advanced Maths) (Honours) and then transfer as soon as I can...
Hi guys/girls! I'm currently in year 12, and in the worst case scenario that I don't get into actuarial studies, I was wondering, how difficult is it to transfer into actuarial after doing a year of another course, say software engineering? Thanks!
Hey guys, is anyone here a Co-op scholar? I have quite a few questions with regards to not only this, but the entire UAC application process itself (I'm a current year 12 student). Firstly, how and when do applicants find out if they're successful for an interview or not? Thanks
Hi everyone. I'm currently in year 12 and I'm going for co-op Actuarial studies at UNSW. I was just wondering, they also have advanced mathematics for co-op. I'm unsure of the difference and which one to put as my first preference. Could someone please clarify? Thanks! :)
Hey guys,
Obviously the scaling varies from school to school for internal assessments (based on rankings), but in the actual HSC, what raw mark (approximately) would get you a band 6 in economics?
