i do bio as well as senior science and my option was pharamceuticals - ur right. bio helps ssc so much!
i went throught the exam with my teacher and she said that the picture labelled 'x' was an artery not a vein, but she said the diagram was very misleading and should be questioned.
You're probably right .. my whole class put a vein so i assumed it was right. i used erythromycin as my antibiotic too - but i thought that was a dodgy question.
It was a vein. The question was for 3 marks though .. so i'm sure if someone said it was an artery and compared an artery to a capillary correctly they will get 2 out of 3.
Don't worry .. a lot of people walked out not having finished question 1 because it was too difficult (well just the last part)
Overall i felt it was a lot harder than previous years. Some questions were straight forward and i thought question 7 was among the 'easier' questions.
2 years...
unless is specifies .. which it didn't you won't lose any marks for it. if they were going to give you a mark for drawing a diagram they would, but seems they didn't say, they can't take a mark off. if they did take a mark off, they would be taking it away from another question as it's out of...
Thanx for putting up the solutions .. the answer for 10 b v) - the minimum area is 32(root)3 cm^2, but i don't remember part iv).
Also with question one - ur calculator was in radians, so the angle in part d is wrong.. it should be 18 degrees (nearest degree) not 35 degrees.
I could be wrong .. but a lot of ppl got -0.044. the thing is simpson's rule finds area, but the question didnt ask for area. some ppl still put an absolute value, but integrals can be negative and areas can't.
