Thanks for the reply. the first few lectures were quite deceptive and I thought I got it...that was until I went to the tute and they started using all these technical terms and symbols...

if anyone does LNGS1002, the textbook in the unit outline - An Intrduction to LAnguage by Fromkin, Collins & Blair is the 4th edition. But the textbook for LNGS1001 is the 5th edition. Does anyone know whether we're meant to use the 4th or 5th edition for the readings?
