i found it easier than the trial. i probably would have had a chance at topping the state but i think my speaking exam will count me out of it. no idea what the final mark will be though! hopefully something sexy

its a bit over 100 people i think, a very small candidature. my class is 12 people and our teacher said we make up roughly 10% of the state.
the listening was easy, it didn't even have a spelling or phone number question which we thought was a bit weird.

i tried to cover as much as i could on the three areas it said to analyse.
structure - i mostly wrote about the linear-but-circular nature of the plot and the way winton shows the passing of time
content - i tried to work in a couple of readings and wrote about family values, etc...
exam writer: "HMMMM LET'S SEE...we can ask them absolutely anything about this text...I KNOW! let's have them explain absolutely everything about it in 40 minutes!"

i felt exactly the same way. i went in knowing all my texts but i just feel dissapointed, like i didn't write enough and my answers weren't as cohesive as what i normally churn out.
7 pages for frontline, 5 for hamlet/rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead, 6.5 for cloudstreet.
