well i jus checked it 3 times now and i REALLY think its 0.323
(0.9 + 0.1)^20
P(>2) = 1 - P(0) - P(1) - P(2)
= 1 - 20C0x(0.9)^20 - 20C1x(0.9)^19x(0.1) - 20C2x(0.9)^18x(0.1)^2
= 0.323
the only reason i can think of the FINAL answer maybe being wrong is the calculator...
that is def right, well either that or im retarded :)
well when x is very small sinx is approx equal to x, thats a rule
and as n approaches infinity 2pi/n approaches 0 i.e. 'very small'
( the answer is def (pi^2)/2 )
in Q1. e) i think that integral is way too easy for 4 marks (the...
So I think i got 106/120 raw mark, what would the aligned mark be approx?
Other people post up what they know and maybe we can estimate what marks give what scaling for everyone
( btw the very last question was definately (pi^2)/2 , not 0 :D )
well along the lines of what gaoOO said,
if you think logically,
as n approaches infinity
n x sin(pi/2n) = really big number x really small number
so you're forgetting the 'really big number'
so you can't just assume it goes to zero
Hey does anyone wanna start a discussion of the links between the tempest and pan's labrynth, and just in general pan's labrynth and the imaginative journey. Techniques and examples would be good :)
Excuse me while i go and watch pan's labrynth again :o
Cheers
